Believe in Yourself

230323

It’s important to believe in yourself, but let’s face it, we all need some help with that from time to time. What would you do without the people who are in your corner, cheering you on? They are your champions, and here’s why they are so important:

Every day and all around you, there are people expressing their opinion about how you “should be”. It can be extremely crippling when you buy into it, because so often these unsolicited gems of wisdom are negative. These people are not secure in themselves, consequently their chief aim is to demoralize, demotivate, and drain you. They are called “energy vampires”, and this is how they achieve some or all of their personal power. They do not want to see you succeed, because they believe that would somehow diminish them.

Your champions, on the other hand, aren’t trying to mold you into their idea of success. Rather, they see your talents and strengths and encourage you to follow your own unique path. They offer to share their knowledge and mentor you, where it is appropriate. They truly care about your success!

So believe in your dream, intend to succeed, and work at it passionately. You will find your true champions gathering around you. Hold them close, treasure them, express gratitude to them often. Your champions are pure gold.

Free your Love | Love is not something we manufacture or make, Love already IS. | HartHaiku.com

Free your Love | It’s the key

Infinite love already exists in everything that is alive, including you and me. Our love lessons are about removing the obstacles to love. They teach us out how to access, express and live it. That is, if we choose to learn.

Fear, anger, prejudice,… there are a myriad of padlocks with which we hold our love hostage. The experiences we have around love are all opportunities for self-examination, so we can learn to love better.

This can feel difficult in a world that is expressing so much dissension and “un-love”. But each of us is a potential key to healing it. Consider that perhaps the high tension in the world right now is a challenge to each of us to work on unlocking our own love. Together, we can collectively unleash a world of love that has never been seen before.

Points of View | To understand you, I must look through your lens too to get a wide view. | HartHaiku.com

Points of View | The many

In this duality world, we all have a tendency to become entrenched in our own point of view. We are trained to see life that way. A or B, right or wrong, etc. “Choose one.” Our ability to listen to and consider many points of view could go a long way towards healing humanity’s many conflicts.

Let’s start to consider the many shades of gray, the place of understanding and compromise. One of my fave Rumi quotes is: “Out beyond ideas of wrong doing
and right doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”

Rich | We crave the glitter, but the promise is a lie. True gold lies within. | HartHaiku.com

Rich | You are the gold

Experience and learning, love and the people in your life are the gold. Your soul is the gold. YOU are the gold.

Society’s formula for rich = happy

We live in a world that prays to the almighty dollar. For many, the idea of rich is lots of money in the bank, and the ability to buy anyTHING they want. But is this true abundance? What if the money all went away overnight? Do you really have any control over that? What have you invested in today that would be worth anyTHING tomorrow?

At the end of the day, in the journey of your soul and when you look back from your deathbed, the things you accumulated will mean nothing.

YOU are the gold. Invest in yourself, starting today.

Look, I know why you hesitate. I have too. It’s called fear, and we all grapple with it. Until there arrives this magic moment (and often in desperation) when we ask ourselves, “Why am I holding myself back this way? I know there is more in me than this. I know I can be happier than this.”

We all fear risk of loss and making mistakes. But there is a goldmine waiting to be tapped within you. Learning brings wisdom, and that is gold in your pocket, wealth of a different kind. When you do the work, do the learning, your metamorphosis is inevitable.

And all those external things you yearned for will flow to you like a river. Funny thing is, you will enjoy them, but they will no longer be something you need. The true happiness already came to you from within.

The seated Buddha is giving the abaya mudra gesture, which depicts fearlessness, and the wisdom achieved with enlightenment.

Be fearless in your journey. Mine your inner gold, your learning and wisdom.

Dare to Err | Take the Mistake Bus, and together we'll ride to Terminus Wisdom. | HartHaiku.com

Dare to Err | The Mistake Bus

Life as a bus. Think of each experience as a bus ride. We get on the bus, we reach our destination, we get off of the bus. Often we ride the same bus, over and over again (aka THE BIG RUT). Occasionally we risk taking a new bus, on a different route. With each bus ride, we accumulate some learning, to one degree or another. And sooner or later, inevitably we find ourselves on THE MISTAKE BUS. We hate the ride, but even worse, we hate where it takes us.

The Mistake Bus

The thing is, the Mistake Bus wasn’t marked. We didn’t know when we got on it!

Why do we hate it so much? Because the Mistake Bus takes us to TERMINUS SELF-EXAMINATION, a place where our ego feels very uncomfortable. We squirm. We find out we are human and fallible. (Oh no!) And even worse, we have likely hurt ourselves or another person in the process.

Stop looking out the back window

But wait! This is life. Our souls came here to learn. That’s the whole purpose of THE BIG RIDE. (Did you not read the fine print in your contract?) Make a mistake, learn. Make a mistake, learn.

Once we’ve ridden on the Mistake Bus, we resist getting on it again. Our egos will do almost anything to avoid it. Why? Regret. We have a tendency to keep looking out the back of the bus, over and over again, reliving our mistakes in our minds. It’s painful. We just want a nice, safe ride, thank you very much, with as little discomfort as possible.

The Mistake Bus is actually the best ride

Eventually we figure out (or we don’t) that the Mistake Bus is actually THE BEST RIDE. There are many of them actually, a veritable fleet. So many Mistake Buses, so little time. There is a full gastronomic menu of life learning in the Mistake Bus fleet. Think about it… Do you order the same old BLT, over and over again, just to avoid heartburn?

The challenge in life is to have the courage to risk getting on the Mistake Bus again. And again. And again. Yes, it can have its downside. But, it’s a more exhilarating ride. And the really great upside is…? Eventually you find yourself more and more often arriving at TERMINUS WISDOM, exactly where your soul was trying to take you all along.

So next time around, have the courage to take the new bus, the wild ride. Go for the learning and wisdom. Risk taking the Mistake Bus.
