Saying what others might be thinking, but are unable to say, is something I strive for every day with my writing. And if my well is dry on a particular day – it’s not that often – I search for and share the words of writers who came before me, ones who have inspired readers across the ages. Their words are timeless.
Writing in tempestuous times, and if you are speaking about anything that could be construed as controversial (isn’t that just about everything these days?), then putting down the words, and publishing them too, takes courage.
Perhaps if everyone knew the courage it takes for any creative person to bare their soul publicly, there would be more respect and appreciation for it in society. As we are not there yet, it therefore also takes a great deal of faith and tenacity to be a writer.
Courage and tenacity are challenges I accept willingly. What I would find impossible to bear is futility. I struggle with the concept of Likes, because good writers must let go of the need for approval. Having said that, those little faces and symbols at the bottom of the page (as well as the “faceless” readers who appear in my stats), sure do help to keep me going, so thanks. 🙂

Creativity isn’t appreciated as it should be. You’re absolutely right. Your thoughts on likes is so valid. The paradox of being encouraged by them, and yet being able to write from the soul without pleasing the algorithms is something I think all creators struggle with. And that’s across all platforms. Thank you for raising this thought.

Thank you for reading and your comment. I think creativity is going to be much more appreciated and implemented in the future. Creativity is in the very essence of the human being, and I believe that is why we must resist “upgrading” the organic human with AI interfaces. People are fascinated with this idea, and yet it will undermine the potential expansion of human consciousness. We are purposely being held back.

I can’t help but think the same. Creativity is key to our expansion in many ways. There is good and bad to AI. It will however alter our ability to process and create in future. The thing is we won’t be able to tell if the creation comes from a human or a machine. There is a lot to say on this topic. That’s for certain.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Alegria. (Are you actually lucky enough to have this beautiful word for your name? If so, then writing about joy must be your destiny.) I’m looking forward to exploring more on your blog. 🙂

Thank you Susan! I do believe sharing joy and writing about it from a perspective of inspiration found in real life is part of my destiny. My mother always called me her joy (Alegria) because I entered the world smiling.
I look forward to our continued connection.

Accepting this has made a huge difference for me. For truly creative writing, it’s the very best argument against AI generated content in a world of too much gibberish already. Creative writing is a soul-searching and soul-deepening process, whether that leads to public acclaim or not. AI has no soul. There is such satisfaction in wrapping words around a truth blooming in ones’ life. Thank you for your ability to express deep insights in just the right words.

Barbara, you have been witness from the early beginnings of my writing journey. You more than most would understand the leap this has been for me. It’s very freeing. I thank you (always) for your example as an accomplished writer and your unwavering encouragement. As for your comment about “right words”…I don’t know that my words are always right – I think once one thinks their words are always right, they have stopped growing – but I’m happy when they come close to what I want to say.
