The brokenness of the root value systems in our societies is undeniable. We don’t need a fact checker to tell us this is true. The only proof we need is to simply look around and see the dysfunctional and chaotic nature of our world at the moment.
What is the solution? Some people wait for the more honorable politician or the more credible institution to fix it. In the long run some solutions might be found there, but for we individuals this entails a lot of waiting, hoping, and feelings of disempowerment in the process.
In this time of extreme and fast change, we do not have the luxury of just sitting back and waiting. It behooves us to dig in and make changes within ourselves, and to also actively participate in creating the changes we desire for the world.

Yes. Nobody is coming to save us. Everyone for him/herself.

For my part, I am not meaning “everyone for himself”, which suggests very “service to self”. The whole idea of an evolution in humanity is that we become cognizant of our part in the greater All, but not at the expense of our individuality or sovereignty. It’s an important balance. We are moving towards a reality of “service to others” if we so choose.
So I’m suggesting to focus on what we need to fix in ourselves, because how can we expect change that we are not willing to make in ourselves? And also to actively contribute to solutions in our societies, rather than waiting for external authority to do it for us. Waiting puts us into a position of servitude, rather than self-empowerment.

When we all get on board with this, Rosaliene, humanity is going to shift in consciousness dramatically. It’s kind of a chicken and egg situation. Does humanity shift and then change happens? Or some change happens (which we initiate), then humanity shifts? I think it’s an ongoing process of both.
